Artificial lawn
Artificial lawn is a good option both for busy people and families whos children play games in the garden. It is extremely robust, we use Grono Artificial lawn it has a 10 year guarantee and is UV reactive which helps the pile stay upright. Please click on the link and you can read all about it.
Installing artificial lawn requires:
- An area to be leveled out upon which a wooden pressure treated frame, which will be installed in the shape agreed with the client.
- The frame will be filled with 50 mm of hardcore which will then be compacted using a whacker.
- On top of the hard core there will be approximately 28 mm of sharp sand which is compacted by a whacker and then leveled off to the top of the frame.
- Once the base is complete we screw the edges of the grass down to the frame and then brush up your new lawn.
Artificial grass generally comes in 2 widths which is 4m and 2m it can be joined but the join is visible. We suggest keeping the 4m max width and putting in a gravel area around the grass to avoid the join. However if you are not bothered by the line, then it can be joined using the Grono joining system.
In terms of maintenance it can be hosed over, there are drain holes in the base and every so often you should brush up the pile for the best effect.
